The Heart Behind the Home

Hi, I’m Kristen Patterson—your expert next door in decluttering, professional home organizing, and occupied home staging in Central Pennsylvania. Growing up as an only child, I found joy in transforming spaces while most kids were outside playing. With a parent who collected antiques and another who overlooked clutter, I turned boredom into creativity—rearranging furniture, styling shelves, and finding better ways to create order in our home. Those early days shaped the passion I still carry today.

As a teenager, I was the friend who happily organized rooms during sleepovers. Babysitting gigs often became room makeovers, where I discovered the thrill of creating intentional, functional spaces. That “grand reveal” moment—watching someone light up when their space transformed—still drives me. I later pursued communication and public relations, working with large organizations where I quickly became the go-to for reorganizing workspaces, streamlining closets, and eliminating clutter wherever I could.

Eventually, I followed my heart and built a career from my lifelong passion. I earned certifications as a Redesign Specialist (CRS) and Staging Specialist (CSS) through the Academy of Staging and Redesign, and launched Sorted & Staged Decluttering and Home Staging Services in 2008. Since then, I’ve helped countless homeowners fall back in love with their spaces. My work has been recognized by FOX 43 Morning News and the Central Penn Business Journal, who honored me as one of their “Entrepreneurs Under 30.” I also enjoy giving back by mentoring students through Junior Achievement of South Central PA.

I’m not just someone who enjoys cleaning—I’m a deeply intuitive organizer and stager with a gift for creating spaces that truly work for the people who live in them. As an ENFJ, I lead with warmth, energy, and empathy, bringing encouragement and motivation to every client I serve. My goal is more than transforming rooms—it’s uplifting the people in them. When your home feels functional, stylish, and decluttered, you gain confidence and peace of mind. That’s the heartbeat of my work—and why I love what I do.
